BODY WORK
Musical theatre workout by Amy Stebbins (text and direction, at NKO SCHÖNER WOHNEN) and Laura Winkler (music) for two singers and two percussionists. The stage is a course of musical-percussive training equipment. A roaring treadmill, a ringing home trainer, a harp made of Pilates bands that drive, wear out nerves and make the rhythmically impossible possible. Body Work runs away from the only certainty of our lives in a ludicrous, accelerating musical theatre circuit training. Death, a running gag...

POP-UP
OPER IM ÜBERFLUSS?
Kulturfestival Stadt im Fluss of the city Esslingen 2024Pop-Up Opera is a site specific project that deals with the topic "City in Abundance?" and is developed for the cultural festival Stadt im Fluss of the city of Esslingen. Opera, which is usually associated with abundance, is rethought and deconstructed through a minimalist and experimental look, using a typical singer-songwriter setup: a singer with a microphone, a loop station and a loudspeaker. The grandeur of opera is evoked through classical vocal techniques. By incorporating familiar operatic material into the loops, a soundscape is created to serve as a harmonic foundation to address contemporary issues such as abuse of power, greed, poverty and war through song.
The performance is divided through 4 different locations on the days 27th and 28th of September. Locations to be annouced closer to the date.
